Now residents and tourists on the paradisiacal island of Bali, in Indonesia, have a first-rate place to train. The traditional haunt of Brazilian surfers, fighters and the Gracie family in South East Asia, Bali has oddly gone all this time hosting many of the world's best Jiu-Jitsu fighters, but with nowhere to practice the art. Now, thanks to black belt Niko Han, who spent over a decade in California and Las Vegas honing his Jiu-Jitsu and MMA skills with some of the world's best trainers and competitors, inhabitants and visitors to the island have a training center befitting of the Gracie family's favorite vacation spot.
Originally from Jakarta, where he and his students have launched Jiu-Jitsu operations in eight different locations under his Synergy Jiu-Jitsu brand, Niko Han has relocated to Bali to share the skills he has developed and learned from such world-class athletes as Rickson Gracie, Jean Jacques Machado, John Lewis, Mark Laimon, Eddie Bravo, Chuck Liddell, Ricco Rodriguez, among others. The academy features a sprawling tatame, first-rate facilities, top-level instruction and even an open-air covered restaurant area where practitioners may rest, eat and watch recordings of fights from the academy's library. All levels of fighter are welcome, from raw beginners to the top athletes who frequently visit the area. Classes for the time being are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
