This Saturday, starting at six pm, in Rio de Janeiro, a special edition of Shooto will take place in Brazil. The old continental rivalry between Brazil and Argentina will unfold in the ring, not the soccer field.
Three of the 10 bouts to take place will pit an Argentine versus a Brazilian. Featured is the return of Nova Uniao black belt grappling phenom Leonardo Santos, who will face tough Argentine standup fighter Cristiano Lopez. Another novelty having to do with the event is that it will be broadcast over the internet on WTNFIGHT.com.br.
"I'm waiting for the Argentine athletes, who arrive on Thursday. The tickets have been sold and everyone is training hard. We will also have our first internet broadcast, so we're hoping a lot of folks will watch the event live," said Shooto president in Brazil Andre Pederneiras.
