Wand comments on knockout win

“I was under a lot of pressure

Wanderlei Silva left the octagon at UFC 84 redeemed. Coming off three back to back losses, the former Pride champion simply walked through Keith Jardine and in 36 seconds was already celebrating the knockout. Back at home, the fighter made a point of updating his blog, on which he wrote of the feeling after his first win since his UFC return.

“My greatest joy was without a doubt to be able to bring happiness to those of you who never gave up on believing in me. My true friends, now we have been redeemed. I spent the day reading and re-reading the messages from you on the internet. You have no idea how happy I am. I am certain any fighter would love to have fans like you. I went through three hard months, training for this fight, and it wasn’t just once or twice that the messages from you uplifted me and stimulated me to keep on training intensely. This fight was decisive. I was under a lot of pressure. I had to win by all means. But at these tough times I could see you guys were with me. To have the affection of you guys on my side is an honor, it is priceless. I was very moved and felt like crying after the win. Thank God I cry from happiness. At that moment I thought of all of you excited by this so long-awaited moment!! Now you can also talk to me on myspace (myspace.com/wanderleisilva.com). Here I’ll be able to get to know you better. I haven’t the words to thank you enough for the strength you have given me. Let’s beat our chests and celebrate with much joy, because this victory is ours!! Thank you so much.”

Thank you Wanderlei! - Wanderlei, i dont know what to say man, GREAT FREAKING KNOCKOUT! I told all my friend after your chuck liddell fight that you didnt come out aggressive enough like you normally do. After this fight, i loved it. No touching of the gloves, just ready to brawl. I hope you go back to your winning ways after this, i nearly cried with you. I think everyone at my house thought i was nuts, with all the jumping and screaming i did. I immediately called my brother in Dallas to let him know, (he was unable to watch the fight), and he flipped smooth out with me. It was such a fantastic fight/feeling. Thank you for the victory and i hope there are many to come. Hopefully one day i get to train with you, or even just meet you.

WAR !!! just WOW - Congrats on your win.
From where I'm from people were following the hockey game... not many people in the restaurent for the fights.

My brother and I were literally jumping up and down and screaming of joy after your win, we made everybody that were watching the hockey game look at the fight replays. They all went silent, and I think the hockey game got a lot less attention all of a sudden.

MMA just gained a couple new fans.

I've been following you since the early pride days, and you're always been my favorite fighter. You're also the reason why I started getting back in shape and doing Muai Thai.

Keep up the hard work ! I always beleived in you.

I hope they match you with Machida so you can expose him... and then Rampage for the belt, we'll finally see if he learned how

Thank You - Wand,
I've been a fan of the sport since 2002....and this was the first UFC (84) that I ever attended live. I bought tickets because you were on the card. I didn't care how the fight went...only as long as you won. Then you win in brilliant fashion with a quick KO! I couldn't of asked for anything more...and I lost my voice yelling and cheering after that. Thank you for such a memorable moment and continue training like an animal. I guarantee you just gained thousands more fans after that. Wanderlei Silva....future Lightheavyweight champion. No need to drop to 185 Wand, the 205 pounders still fear the Axe Murderer! THANK YOU AGAIN!
