Pedro Valente can brag about being one of the few people in the world to receive both his black belt and his instructors diploma from the hands of Helio Gracie. Founder of Gracie Miami along with Rorion and Royce Gracie, as well as his brother Guilherme, Pedro visited the Central American nation of Honduras at the end of this April, with the aim of teaching some seminars.
The recommendation came from his former student (John Paul Lloyd), who returned to the country of his birth and opened a Gracie Miami affiliate there. Impressed by the level of John’s students, Pedro met Hector Zelaya, son of President Manuel Zalayeta, who was excited with the techniques he learned. As proof the art passes all boundaries, the Brazilian was received in the presidential palace by the country’s highest authority. Check out the Gracie Miami promotional video:
