A quick addition and subtraction of what was, up until today, the last name in the 66kg division of the 2017 ADCC Worlds, grappling’s biggest event, set to take place Sept. 23 and 24 in Helsinki.
Márcio André of Nova União, who was invited on short notice, is out. Soon after confirming his presence and having his name included in the roster, Márcio has been sidelined by a series of injuries, Graciemag has learned.
Injuries to his ankle and knee, which got worse after he won the ACBJJ belt in Rio, forced Márcio to exit the ADCC’s big one. He had been added to replace Leozinho Vieira, who exited the 66kg division in favor of a superfight versus Chael Sonnen.
