UFN 83: Cerrone finishes Cowboy on his welterweight debut; Tanquinho loses via KO on 1st round

The UFC provided a fun evening for MMA fans this Sunday.

UFC Fight Night 83: Cerrone vs. Cowboy featured 13 fights and lost of thrilling moments.

In the main card, Jiu-Jitsu world champion Augusto Tanquinho Mendes had a bitter UFC debut.

Without being able to take the fight to the ground, Tanquinho was hit with a powerful right by Cody Garbrandt and fell on his back forcing referee Mario Yamasaki to stop the fight with 4:18 on the first round.

In the co-main event, Derek Brunson caught Roan “Jucão” Carneiro with some ground and pound to win via KO also on the first round.

The main event was also short lived, as Donaldo Cerrone quickly took Alex Oliveira to the ground, mounted and locked a triangle to force the tap with 2:33 on the first.
