The lightweight black belt division was one of the most hotly-disputed of the 2011 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship. Beasts like three-time champ Celso Venícius and recent sensation Leandro Lo, for example, went home without medals. The division was a bona fide mine field!

For the gold, Gilbert Durinho was one of the event’s big standouts. In the divisional decider the Atos beast overcame the splendid Kron Gracie, reciprocating the setback suffered at his hands weeks earlier in Italy.
