Eye’s on: DJ Jackson, a promise flying under the radar

Among GRACIEMAG.com’s missions is to point out tomorrow’s champions.

And today we sifted out a Lloyd Irvin purple belt medal collector flying under the radar: De Alonzio Jackson, better known as DJ Jackson.

Besides the many votes for him as the best non-black belt athlete in GRACIEMAG.com’s end-of-the-year poll, DJ won the purple belt absolute at the 2011 European Open.

“He’s been training for a few years, and I believe this will be the year he takes off,” wagers Lloyd Irvin. “He was world runner-up at blue belt middleweight but lost to his own teammate, Frank Camacho. His aim in 2011 is to win the big tournaments, like the European, Pan, and Worlds.”
